The Gardiner Ultimate pole uses Gardiner Smart clamps that are thicker clamps that are grooved at each end to prevent finger pinching while collapsing the pole. These clamps come with a spring inside to increase pressure without having to over tighten the clamps. Grooved, thicker clamps make it safer and easier to adjust the pole without risk of injury.
