The lifespan of DI (deionization) resin depends on the quality of the source water and the volume processed, but typically it lasts anywhere from a few weeks to several months. Most DI resins are effective until their color changes or the water’s total dissolved solids (TDS) begin to rise, indicating exhaustion. Regular testing of output water is the best way to determine when the resin needs replacing. Anything over 0 and you may see spots, so its time to replace to ensure spotless results.
