The Vacuum could work as a Gutter Vac yes,but its messy,
The pump out in the drum takes a some space in the drum and can be awkward to manage cleaning the leaves and debris around the pump.
So when you are working with leaves and other debris, I would take a page out of the woodworkers Vacuum techniques and place a separator just before this Vac.
I would recommend looking at this one that uses a standard 30 gallon trash can with a separator lid.
