The cleaner will change the color of most decorative fixtures, lamps, electrical box covers, etc, and can remove soft plating like the decorative Nickle finishes popular today.
The cleaner can also remove paint from painted metal surfaces
If your hangers are the galvanized steel metal brackets typical for supporting framing and you do t mind a color change then there will not be an issue. The cleaner will cause exposed screws and nail heads used to secure the brackets of deck boards to be more susceptible to rusting after cleaning,
So Rinse well and then we recommend rinsing with a neutralizing agent immediately after cleaning to minimize any nail head or xxxx head rusting.
